bad "screeching noise"
So the other day on my way home I experienced a thud like noise from the truck, thought I had run something over not seeing it. Shortly thereafter I was getting this dragging grinding noise from the truck. I pulled over thinking I hit something it shot up into one of the heat shields under the truck and it was rubbing on the driveshaft.
Thats what it sounded like to me.
I looked and looked and looked nothing I could see rubbing or hitting or any damage.
I got back on the road, same thing. pulled over again started looking at wheel areas, nothing found.
got back on the road and drove same thing, pulled over a 3rd time found nothing.. rode home the back roads so I would not cause a major issue on the highway..
kinda of a screeching rubbing noise once you pass 10 mph it moves with road speed and or shaft speed. I banged my head around it for like 36 hours now.
dropped it off last night and today at work it dawned on me.. the E brake could have come apart and is making that noise correct?
I initially thought I lost both IWE's , but when I got home I touched them and they were not hot at all.. I then was thinking well maybe something in the transfer case let go but I see now leaks and well The truck seems to move too well to have something really binding in there especially when I did try 4 wheel drive to see if the noise got worse or went it away, It did not change at all once in 4x4
So Im thinking Ebrake assy is coming apart..
anyone else have any ideas?

Wheel bearing?

Jack the truck up, start spinning wheels.
If the ebrake was dragging, that back drum should be getting hot (in theory). When you start checking your wheels, lock the E-brake in and try spinning like that as well

I agree. Put it on 4 jack stands and put it in gear in 2 wheel drive. If no noise try 4X4. This will isolate which axle the noise is coming from.
