I'm actually pretty pleased Eric... I've driven trucks (Chevy/GMC 1500's/150's)/SUVS (Suburbans/Denalis/Blazers) my whole "driving" life, so I'm (unfortunately) VERY familiar with crappy gas mileage. In summary, I know what I'm getting into by driving 4x4's, etc. However, like everybody else, I wouldn't mind squeezing a mile or two more out of a gallon IF possible. 👍🏼

2006 F150 STX 4.6L 2v. Running 275/75 17 Duratrac tires.
I've been using around 7 - 7.5 gallons to get to my field office n back once every couple weeks. Its 150miles both ways. With light traffic, driving conservatively and my 27gallon tank topped off.
Averaging between 20-21.5 MPG highway.
I don't do much driving around town.
Best guess is 16-18 depending on traffic and my mood lol.

So far not super impressed with the EB motor.
Dash seems to like to hover below 14 average.

Only one long road trip. 330 miles average of 18.6 mpg per dash.
75 mph mostly. Two female adult passengers. Cruise control most of the way. 1/4 to 1/3 the way down I crept up to 80 on cruise. Drive home was 75 with cruise.
Occasional passing but conservative passing. The amount of time out of 6th gear was impressively minimal.

Ideal conditions for a long drive to be honest.

On the way down I was hovering better than 21 then it slowly made way to the 20's then 19's. Stayed there for a while. Very little city driving at the destination (not a 3.5 to 4 mpg average for 150 miles total.
Back home at 18.6.
The drive home as mostly 75 on cruise (too dark to drive too fast).
Trip was reset when leaving the gas station.

Have not reset trip yet, been only city driving since the trip -maybe as much as 200 miles on the trip meter, additional to my trip and I'm at 16.4, 500 miles or so with 330 of it highway. The average is dropping a tenth per day now since it's been at 16.9.

Figured a modern day 3.5 would net more than 14 city.
Stock vehicle, 6 speed, 3:55 rear end.
Can't drive it much more efficiently than I do, if I did/could it would not make it a 16 mph vehicle.
I remote start about every day so I probably add a minute of garage idle. I'd always allow it to run when cold anyway, for a minute or 2. Three or 4 minutes of idle per day is nothing when considering that's the time spend sitting at 2 traffic lights.
It's more frustrating than anything. I mean yes it won't be amazing but <14 is bleh, figured I'd get 16 realistically with mixed driving.
