Possible New Truck ?'s
#11
I have seen engines replaced with as little as 5k on them. Sometimes, people do dumb ****. One of my best friends growing up bought a 2001 SS Camaro a few years back. It rained one day. He drove through a flooded street. The cold air sucked up a ton of water. He got anew motor at like 5k. So sometimes, theres a logical explanation.

I went and saw, and heard the truck today. I took a few pics but haven't had time to up them online, so is there anyway to up them directly from my HDD to the forum? Otherwise I will try to get them up tomorrow after work...
Anyway the truck still looks real clean to me, and it started and ran fine as well. But there was the check engine light on. The owner said it had done that since the new engine was installed. He said even when it gets cleared it just returns in a 100 miles or so. He said that the mechanic that installed it said it was normal for some Fords to do this. Haha sounds like BS to me. Anyway he said they pulled the code, and it is a "lean condition" error. Any ideas on this one? To me, I am thinking this would fall under the warranty for the "new" engine, as I see this as a pretty significant issue in the long run... What do you guys think? I know it sounds sketchy, but I really like this truck, and he is willing to trade for my HD, which will really make things easy...

The 04-05 engines had a problem running lean when an intake was added, this might be the same problem, ask if it has a 06+ computer on it or not.

First off, why does every guy feel they need to 'get rid of their toys' when a kid comes along? LOL, don't let your life go away just cuz you have a baby... haha, JK of course... a little... LOL
In all seriousness, I would probably steer away from anything with 'rebuilt motor' in the title... "Rebuilt" USUALLY means 'crap will forever be going wrong with it'. Sounds like a good trade, but for reliability issues, I would steer clear.
Although that is just my opinion, let us know what you decide =) Pics?

i would stay away from this truck. you can get a truck with less miles and the factory motor for the same price. yes you will have to sell your harley first but trust me the little head ache now will save you alot of pain and money down the road. i would never buy a truck throwing codes. trust me there is A LOT of trucks out there dont settle for this one.
