I've been dealing with the same thing for 30k miles and was able to finally get it resolved today at a front end shop. Turns out that when I replaced the front shocks, the shop that instAlled the springs didnt tighten the center bolts enough and there was about a quarter inch of play on each shock. I also had a bad end link. To visually check the center bolt have someone push down the front end repeatedly and if they're loose you'll see the movement. I enjoy my truck again after two years of having it sound like a clunker.

Gents I’ve been thru the similar noise issue on my 02 F150 when replacing the upper control arms. But I can only caution folks there is a material issue one should look at when purchasing parts that are claimed to be manufactured to OEM spec... The aftermarket replacement control arms are not all the same. I measured about .300 ths difference in the width of the control arm bushing eye as where the bushing is being held in place by press fit. My first new replacement pair within a week would pop and clunk just by turning the wheel. The OEM factory control arms would pop every once in a while I had 140 k on them. I would put this as going from irritating to infuriating. I’m in the process of trying to return these so called OEM spec replacement parts and recover the labor charges. I will take some pictures of the parts and show the differences in the near future.

My clunking sound was the sway bar end link bushings. Try rocking your truck side to side from either the driver or passenger side front fender well. If you can hear the popping have someone crawl under the truck to see if they can locate the popping. Even though I had replaced mine, I stilll had one go out prematurely within 3 months. I installed the new ones and retightened them after 500 miles of driving. No more clunk sound when going over bumps. Even though your end link bushings look ok, they might not be. Just rock it from side to side and you should be able to tell.

When I bought my truck it made a clunking noise on corners and speed bumps. It was my driver side nerf bar was loose (there is an adjustment bolt that is long and braces itself to the frame. In my case was sliding up and down the frame). If you have one, grab it and move it up and down to test.
