Hey guys so I got an 04 f150 fx4 with the 5.4. Starting about a month ago whenever I was driving I would punch my truck and under the hood I hear a terrible popping noise and no power at all Already replaced the fpdm and fuel filter. Any input would be great. Truck has 93k miles and original plugs and coils

Are you getting an engine trouble code because mine has done the same thing twice in the last week when I punched it?

Is yours doing like this? I recorded this on mine. I've changed the plugs & have changed 3 bad ignition coils. It ran good for 3 days then BAM. Loss of power on all cylinders for a min or two. It runs like cow dung. Will get my mechanic to change out my fuel filter & check out the FPDM.

Mine is doing it too. I have an '06 Lariat. Got another thread going on here. I've changed the plugs, fuel filter, air filter and cleaned the throttle body and MAF. It seems as though my catalytic converters are plugged up. Getting them changed next Friday. Will let ya know if that was it.

I had this same problem, took it to the dealer and they said it was a program glitch. They reprogrammed it and things have been okay. I do hear a tick or two if I really get on it...so I'm assuming my cats are fouled up a bit from whatever was wrong before. Mine also threw a code, btw.
