Update - I did some investigating yesterday and started checking the spark plug and cylinder number 4 is cross threaded. I am going to try to remove it tonight. Hoping i can get lucky to re-tap the head. The coil on top is blown and burnt up. I didn't expect this. i hope the passenger side head doesn't need to come off. If im not lucky its going to have to go to a machine shop. Any suggestions. We all know the consequences of spark plugs with these trucks. Specifically the items in the rear of the motor under the wipe cowel.

::::::UPDATE:::::

So the shop working on my vehicle can't re-chase the threads while the engine is in the vehicle. The spark plug in cylinder 4 is cross threaded and according to the shop the head's for the passenger side of the motor can't be removed while the engine is in the vehicle. They can't chase or tap new threads because they cant get the chasing tool into the truck due to the wiper cowel overhang and the position of cylinder number four. The shop working on my vehicle is telling me that because of the design of the 4.6l motor that the heads can't be pulled out while the engine in the vehicle.

They also wanted 2500.00 to remove engine, remove head, send to shop to be machined, rebuild top end stuff since motor is out and reinstall motor into vehicle.

I am looking into a rebuilt motor with a warrenty or even just removing the motor itself and purchasing a new head to have it installed. I am lost....because i caused this problem and am now having to learn the hardway i guess.

Anyways any input???
