Default Pooch No More!

Installed My Evolution Programmer and it really did wake the truck up I can actually smoke the tires if I want now

I have it set on tune 2 with the following set custom:
Shift firmness 1-2 + 10
Shift Firmness 2-3 + 9
Shift Firmness 3-4 + 8
Idle + 125
Tire Size = 2586mm

Has anyone else played with these shift firmness settings? I don't want to push it

I got my shift firmness way up there.like in the 20s so far the truck hasn't blown the tranny. I personally like the really firm shift.

A lot of people crank them up as high as it will go. Not me mine are set to pretty much what your are set to. I don't thing raising the firmness will mess up the tranny, it's actually better less slippage. If you go the other way it will make it less firm therefore more slippage. Your idle must be kind of high with that number what around 625-650? I raise mine up 75 and I'm right around 600.

Did some re-adjusting today:

Shift Firmness 1-2 + 18
Shift Firmness 2-3 + 17
Shift Firmness 3-4 + 16

And with the +125 rpm my idle is around 760.

So far I really like it

Out of curiosity what is The advantage of raising the idle? Wouldn't that just burn more gas at lights?

I raised mine because these trucks idle low from 500-525ish. I've read that there was an update for the PCM that ford dealers can do which raises the idle, but instead of paying them to reflash my PCM I just do it with my edge on level 3. I raised mine 75 which puts it around 600 which I think just feels better. It's all user preference.
