Please Help!?!?

lol that's a whole different can of worms that I don't want to deal with. Now that you mention where it's located I remember reading a post about that and apparently the metal on metal contact or something is the real issue. I'm not sure but my problem is I can't remove my spare tire. The equipment was not in the truck when I bought it and when I bought one online from Amazon it ended up just being like this hook thing and something for the tires. I can't remove my spare tire and I know that's an issue but I'm the type of person that likes to avoid things until required. If I had gotten a flat tire in the past 2 years then I would have had to deal with that but I haven't thankfully. I think I might call the advisor though and mention that to her.

Well from what I read it could fit because it is a NO CRANK/NO START and one of the posts mentioned that his truck started acting up when it gets hot but my truck runs great and doesn't throw any codes. The only issue is that the battery light comes on when running and sometimes the NO CRANK/NO START. I haven't found anything mentioning the battery light coming on because of the FPDM. I will keep looking though.

Ouch! You just wait till you're stranded to worry about getting your spare out? Then maybe its flat? That's not a good way to approach things! As far as the FPDM goes once you can get your spare down it doesn't cost anything to check it. I exercise the winch used to raise and lower the spare tire usually once every three months so the winch doesn't freeze up. I'll admit it has been about 5months since I last did it but Im going to attempt to put a new muffler on this weekend and that will be a good time to drop the spare again.

So I just called my Ford service advisor and mentioned that to her....

This is where we're at. The technician went to start the truck and it wouldn't start for him :-)!!! Finally... BUT the problem is she said that the diagnosing is going back to the PCM. She said they are going to try swapping the PCM with one that they have that is "known to be good" and see if that fixes the issue. I mentioned to her about the FPDM and I think she knows what that is and may suggest that if they can't figure it out or if the PCM swap doesn't change it.

Basically they are thinking PCM, maybe voltage regulator, maybe they will look at FPDM. Other than that no new updates. I think she said it started for him so he is going to test drive it and try to re-create the NO CRANK/NO START and then swap PCM to see if that works but I'm not completely sure. I will update when I hear back from her.

I just received a call from the Ford service advisor. She said the technician couldn't duplicate the NO CRANK/NO START again and we are hitting rush hour traffic so he's going to try again tomorrow. She mentioned that they contacted some Ford support or something? I'm not sure what she was talking about but basically they said to check the ground wires on the PCM. Doesn't sound like much difference but it is what it is. Hopefully they figure it out tomorrow.
