Only a shade or 2 off I can live with it lol

I am about to pull the trigger on plastidipping my bumpers. Have a few questions though should I paint the front valance to match? And how much masking should I do I did my badges a few weeks ago and masked off the letters but it was a pain to unmask as the dip dried to the tape. Also thinking about doing my wheels in anthracite grey since its the closest I can find to the 09-14 FX2 wheel color I want.

I think the badges look great! I would say don't paint the valance because it is textured and there in no way of knowing just how the paint will cover it. Also i'm not too sure about plasti-dip but regular spray paint will not stick to chrome so if its the same thing make sure to scuff the chrome, even if the bumper does not require it it would probably be best to scuff the whole thing, paint it silver with regular spray paint and then plasti-dip it just because that is the part of the vehicle that gets the most stress with rocks, bugs and whatnot.

If you scuff the chrome there's no going back, kinda defeats the whole premise of Plasti-dip.

My son and I plasti-dipped his bumpers black. They have held up quite well. The key is to clean them well and wipe down with alcohol. Don't scuff them. Put several heavy coats (5-6) and you should have no problems. There are videos on youtube demonstrating.

try removing the tape before the dip dries. My bumper and emblem are both plastidipped
