Default Plastidip 2008 F150 Steel Wheels

Hey everyone. I recently bought a 2008 F150 XL Triton V8. I LOVE the truck!! However, I am not crazy about the wheels. How would these look plastidipped black? Just wanted to get some opinions before I bought the supplies and did it. Thanks!

Hmmm ok. Thanks. I know it's not ideal, but was just curious as to what it would look like in the time being. Can't afford any new wheels right now. Thanks!

Just do it. I think it will look much better. Sure we would all like to go out and buy custom wheels. For some of us it isn't a priority and we have other responsibilites ahead of spending money wheels.
I have a Lariat with the 20" OEM wheels and I'm thinking of doing mine.

Exactly. I just bought the truck, can't exactly rush out and buy new rims haha. In that picture of the plastidipped rims, that looks more like paint to me. Any guess? Or am I stupid and that's the plastidip.

I don't understand this plastidip fad that's going on at all. From what I've heard it peels off easy when scratched or nicked. If you must have black wheels why not do it better with high temp engine paint (or BBQ paint). It sprays way better and is really durable. It's what i've used in the past and it held up perfectly through ice/snow conditions.

I understand about not having or wanting to spend the money on wheels right after a big purchase with the truck. I had to wait a few months and now I have 20" FX4 black wheels and love'em! Do what you gotta do.

They will look exactly the same... Except black-ish...

For me it was a two fold benefit: it peels off easily with no damage to the underlying surface and it has a slightly rubberized texture that will help protect my paint from scratches and rock chips. Not to mention it is cheap! For less than $25 I was able to coat my rocker panels with some left over.
