Gonna be the bad guy here...the tail lights you did look bad. Now I don't have the whole story of how you prepped them and all, but the finish is "satin" to say the least (unless thats the look you're going for).
I could also be looking at a bad (cell phone) photo as well...not sure. I think you should wet sand those out and work a good shine into them. It's not easy I promise. Some people get lucky and the spray on tint comes out looking glossy when they are done...but it has alot to do with the prep job and the condition of the lenses.

I know it's rubber I have it on my truck. He didn't mention in the first post he was using plasti dip on the tail lights so I thought it was nightshades without clear coat or being sanded
