The first link is an actual PIE adapter, then the second would be an equivalent for half the cost.

Here's a link of someone using the second one just so you know it works: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/installed-aux-input-211627/
Yeah i saw that one too but it says its only for 2006-2010 F-150. I have a 2005 and OP has a 2004

If you're worried about the second one, then the amazon link is right above it with the product you guys are looking for.

What could be the possible difference between 04-05 and 06-08 in terms of the stereo? Why wouldn't they all be the same? I'm really liking that $79.00 price tag lol

I actually just went through this since I had the frd04 and it went bad. I got the isimple setup from crutch field thinking it would be the same thing but they work differently. The isimple and all the other aux adapters simulate a satellite radio and since the 04 trucks didn't come with that option the radio will not recognize it. Trust me I tried lol.

Ya I think that is what the frd04 did and that's why it would work with '04+ f150. It's a shame no one makes anything for 04 anymore.

It's a shame they just didn't put in a damn aux input headphone jack lol.

I have the same thoughts on power windows and locks even on base models. Just put them in. Base models don't need anything else fancy just the windows and locks. I mean the STX has cruise control but now power locks or windows lol. I'm just saying... /RANT
