Default People usually don't keep there vehicles this long....

Just got back from the autobody shop, because some of the paint is starting to peel on the corners. I had the truck painted in 2010(it's a 2006) due to an auto accident, every panel was painted sans the roof and the 2 front doors.

Anyway, this place has a lifetime warranty on their paint and labor, the guy said he never had someone come in for warranty work on a 7 year old paint job and most people don't keep vehicles this long. He's going to respray it for free but I'll probably be back again in another 7 years for another respray, lol. He's going to lose money on me..................

Getting the rear bumper, hood, front fender, and rear quarter panel edges all repainted.

My 06 still has the factory paint and is looking great, better than 98% of the 06's I see around my streets.

My 04 looks pretty good for 13 years old, never in a garage and in S.Florida sun. 2nd and 3rd pic after clay bar and Liquid Glass.

Yeah I guess when you get a respray it's never as good as OEM, they can't bake it.......................
My OEM panels have no issues as far as peeling.

These are the parts they are fixing:

Seems like all the edging. I agree about the baking / drying of paint. Also quality of paint too.

Quality of paint and prep. Looks like prep work did not include sanding the edges......The edges see less sun than the flat portions so the only conclusion was poor prep.

I assume your right the actual panels still look good, it's just some of the edges.

The weird thing is they showed me the work order of what they actually did, the worst part, the rear bumper, they didn't even paint. They ordered it painted from either Ford or aftermarket supplier, 0 paint hours for that bumper. The guy said he'll respray that edge anyway even though he didn't paint it, so I'm happy with that. At least the customer service is good there.

The edges of the rear bumpers come from Ford with clear 3M plastic to protect that part from rock chips. Was the not included?

They said they bought that rear bumper already painted and clear coated from somewhere(a supplier), they had 0 paint hours on that bumper. So they say the paint problem is not their fault on that, but they agreed to fix it anyway.

I don't know where that bumper came from, it was a Geico claim, so they could have used an aftermarket one that came painted. I know they used an aftermarket CAPA hood though.
