Default For the people with lifted f150s

Alright I'm going to start by saying sorry if there is a thread already on this but I'm on my iPhone as my computer crashed.

But the people with lifted f150s I have a question. Is it worth it? I won't be using the truck Offroad as I have a old rusty beatup jeep for that. But mostly just for looks. I have always wanted a lifted truck but never could justify spending the money for something I really don't need. But I already have a leveling kit, 35s, and motometals so I won't need wheels or tires just the lift. I just wanna know if it's worth it. And how long do these trucks last? Buy the time I could get the money up for the lift the truck would be near 100k.
Here is a picture of the truck as it is now.

not one bit.

a leveled diesel on 35s is basically the same size as a f150 w/6" and 35s.
id just sell it and get that...less hassle, less things to break, etc etc

How long do you plan to keep the truck in question? Personally, I keep my vehicles till the wheels fall off and just continue dumping money into them, regardless of the mileage on the truck, eventually EVERYTHING will be replaced. I have NOT had anything major happen to the one I currently have as of yet. I currently have 106,000 hard miles on it with a helluva lotta life left. But when something major does happen, you see my answer to that above.

To answer your question from my standpoint, yep, its worth it....

To schissler I don't really want or need a diesel. And buckshot I do plan on keeping the truck for a long time.

unless you plan on doing alot of other upgrades with it, like gears, programmer etc, it sucks so bad to have a lifted gas truck.

everytime i drive my buddies f250s and 350s i wanna send the f150 to the junk yard.

Well I already have 35s on it with the stock 3.73. Is just the lift alone gonna make any difference? I thought it just came from the tires. And I had a programmer before and honestly couldn't tell a difference with anything.

it will create more wind resistance..but yeah its mostly from the tires.

i honestly dont know how people drive on stock gears with bigger tires. I assume people say they dont feel a difference because they get used to it and if they were to drive a geared truck, then go back to theirs; they would have a totally different opinion on the matter.

i rocked the 373s with 35s for about 2 months before i got completely fed up with how slow it was and went to 456s. way better fuel mileage and its a bit faster than a stock f150.

id never lift another (daily driven) gas truck. but to each their own.

My '04 was leveled with 35's and 3.73 gear's and the only way I could stand to drive it was on Level 2 with the Edge programmer. Ended up going down to 34 inch tires and it pulled a little better but re-gearing would be the best bet. A 4" Rancho with 35's and 4.56's would be the max for a daily driver in my opinion. Still streetable would look good and hopefully would not put you in the poorhouse!

I daily drive my 150 alomost 200 miles a day. Im on 37's with a 5.4 and 3.73's. gas would definitely be an issue for some. I also have a durango and a blazer. You have to keep in mind the overall wear and tear on things like brakes, bearings and so on. Id say, its always worth it to lift the truck, but Id also say, make sure you can afford the maintenance, Im posting this from the shop now having all new brakes put on the truck lol

My F150 isnt lifted but most everything I have had in the past has been so I can chime in a little bit...

First off I think your truck looks great like it is.

If you go with the 4" lift you are going to spend 1,500 or so just to gain 1 1/2". I dont know if that would be worth it or not.
If you go 6" I give you a month for the excitement to wear off and you start wanting 37's.

If you were an offroader I would say that the money might be worth it because of the performance gains but being you have your jeep for that I would say no. Take the money for the lift and go get the plugs and coils changed if you havent already!

Good luck with your decision man, it is one that we all have contemplated at least twice.
