Default Factory Radio Question from a Newbie!

Hey everyone, I just signed up and thought I would say hello!

My question is about the factory head unit in my '04 F150. It has the 6-disc in-dash changer and the factory subwoofer. I'll throw a pic of it below.

Anyway, is there anyway to add an aux input to the factory head unit so that I can play Pandora or songs from my Ipod?

Thanks guys!

Here you go. There's been about 3 or 4 other threads that I've seen in the last week or so asking the same question.

Welcome aboard.
For what it costs to get a proper adaptor, just bite the bullet and go for a new head unit(I was going to buy an adaptor for Ipods). Go to crutchfield.com - they will answer your questions and make recommendations for what you need - per your input. You can beat their prices at places such as Amazon or Ebay - their advantage is they give you installation instructions and advice. Worth the extra $$$ to deal with them unless you already know everything.

True, I could get an aftermarket head unit from Crutchfield, but since the factory unit is a double din, I think putting a single din head unit in would look like crap. I looked into getting a double din with nav, but I couldn't justify spending $1,000+ on a head unit for a vehicle that I drive once a month.

Besides, if someone walks by the truck, I don't want to draw any unwanted attention since I'm adding one of these under the rear seat.

It's going to house 2 Kicker Comp VR 10's being powered by a 1000W Kenwood KAC-8105D amp. I already have a Line Output Converter sitting around and a wiring kit.

I think I'll have all my bases covered once I order the PIE adapter and a 3.5MM jack?

The aux input devices do not work with all generation iPod so do your research first. Check out the Clarion CX 501 not a thief magnet $250 syncs wirelessly to iPhone and other devices and is a speaker phone.

If your radio has the aux button you need this adapter, http://www.discountcarstereo.com/cat...C-p-17534.html. I just did this a few months ago and I got the wires to mount a 3.5 mm jack right between the cigarette lighter and reverse sensor button.

Here's some links I posted for someone on here on how to install and open the center dash piece. https://www.f150forum.com/f4/aux-pie...stereo-201835/
