Painting plastics with Krylon Fusion
A lot of my plactics are faded and instead of replacing them i wanna save money and paint them and i've heard Krylon Fusion is good to use. My truck is black so i would paint fenders mirror caps etc. to match the rest of the truck, using the Fusion how would it look and would it last?

I used satin black on my cowling and it looks awesome. Honestly better than original. Had I known it would look so good, I wouldn't have blown the money of new plastics for the bed rails.

I used it the satin black. It looks awesome, but after 2 years it started coming off the handles. I used 2 coats the first time, and just redid them this week using 3 coats, I'm being optimistic that it will last longer than 2 years. I did my wiper cowling, mirrors, and door handles. The cowling and mirrors have held up great for 2 years, but the door handles were the ones that started to flake off, I'm assuming from the constant use. Also I wash my truck a lot, (3-5 days), plus my tires stick out throwing things up on the side of the truck, the handles have seen some abuse.

The Krylon is already glossier than the factory black plastic. I used it on my wiper cowls and wipers. I'm not really sure what you're going for from your post... if you want it to match the paint on your truck, you're gonna need to get it prepped and painted with something else. The Krylon paint is only good for a flat-looking finish.

I would think that if you put on 3-4 coats of the krylon on there and then put on 2-3 coats of glossy clearcoat it would make it glossier than flat black. But I haven't personally tried it on a truck

Here is satin black fusion on the front valance, toolbox, bed rails, and flares. Clean good, then hit them with body shop grade adhesive remover, then adhesion promotor. Then a couple coats of paint. I didn't put any clear on it because I didn't like the way it was turning out, and it lasted just fine for four years.
