painted my headlights this weekend

gave it a shot, took about 2 hours per side. used sila-tech rtv for plastics and krylon fusion satin black.
I think they turned out pretty damn good

How hard is it to get the front lens off to paint them? I was looking at getting new lights on ebay with the black backing but what you did looks just as good!

Looks good. Also curious as to how hard they were to pry apart. I heard for ford permaseal is a bitch to pull apart.

it was easier than I thought. wear mechanics gloves I have a few stab wounds but once I got a peice apart I would grab hold and peel them apart the whole way around. I did oven 250 for 7 minutes on cardboard lense facing up. repeated 2 more times till it was apart

I wonder how long the black spray paint will last and if it will start peeling because of the temperature difference caused by the hot bulbs.

I did mine three years ago with the Krylon Fusion and they look as good today as the day I painted them.....I really don't think peeling will be an issue
And to the OP....you did a nice job, your heads look awesome! It's amazing how a simple mod like this changes the entire look of a truck!
