For some reason, 04 was the only year that they painted the pillars gloss black. 05 and up have a flat black pillar wich looks like crap. It looks plastic. It doesn't blend with the windows at all. I can easily understand why you would want to paint them. My truck is an 04 black truck so I don't need to paint but I have seen a few newer black trucks that look like somebody forgot to paint a spot and left it primer.

I was wondering why someone would want to paint the pillars but now i know i got the 04 and the dark red w/ the gloss black I think looks sweet but i couldn't see flat black on there! BTW also not a fan of the new truck with the flat black above the bumbers! BTW also not a fan of the candy green on the truck to much attention i must not be able to handle it! LOL! Or maybe I think its screaming pull me over for doing something wrong Mr. officer (i've learn not to draw to much attention to myself only bad things happen, not worth the cool factor) lol!

How do you take the pillars off.

 

How is the paint process layered at the factory? I need my Tail gate repainted also I have the backup camera in my handle. Any special way to remove that? It is factory black and I have a dent in it that is rolled over at a support area. Any help would be appreciated.

 

I can't see the pics you posted here at work, but I like the way the OEM black flows with my tinted windows.
