Default P0345 Only When Turning at slow speeds

Hello I have a new to me 2004 F150 FX 4 with 220k miles. Truck runs fine but I just realized that when I pull into my driveway and if I stop by the mailbox and slowly accelerate while the steering wheel is turned all the way it will start running rough. I read the code and it came back with P0345.

Once the I shut if off and turn back on it runs fine and check engine light is gone. I have ordered both camshaft position sensors to replace. I have read many threads on here, and the wiring looks good.

I can replicate it most of the time and never happens otherwise.

Thanks guys.

Mark, I just replaced the engine oil with Mobil 1, checked transmission oil looks good will flush it but live MI and waiting for warmer weather. Got a new air filter, breaks and drums, replaced the rear and front differential fluids as well. And I replaced the fuel filter. I don't want to touch the plugs yet since I hear they break off easy until I do more research. Thanks I do hear cracking in the suspension sometimes and looks like one of the tie rods is out but that is all I could find.

With 220K miles on the motor.. I'm pretty sure they have been replace before and if that's the case your plugs should be SP515's or another brand that no longer break when being removed. I would replace the plugs, boots and springs when you get a chance. The sensors can't hurt..

Those will work ! Get a small tube of dielectric grease and put a little on the inside of the boot at each end.. this will help seal out moisture.

Default Bank 2 cam sensor is on drivers side

I would carefully look at wiring to cam sensor as it is by power steering reservoir and there have been wiring problems near that mounting . Since your are equating it to a hard turn . Seems to me there are some wires near that steering knuckle also but I haven't been in there for awhile .
I assume this is a 5.4l .

Yes it is 5.4 L, they are wrapped up pretty well hard to get them exposed without cutting in there and that is something that I would not do. I have tried to push on them and wiggle them to see if they would give me a short but nothing.
