Default P0306 and P0174 Codes

Truck has 66K miles.

I can feel the mis-fire pretty much all the time now. I think I have narrowed this down. I changed out all the COPs and plugs before this started happening. Tested coil on #6 by swapping it with #7 and code stayed on #6. Tested spark by grounding spark plug in coil boot and seeing it fire well. So now I looked at the injector. Checked resistance on it and another one and got 12.4 and 13,4 ohms. This is within range I believe. I then cleaned and inspected the harness plug 1 on the PCM and it looked good, used contact cleaner on it.

Next I tested a few injectors with a NOID tester. Got good constant flashing on two others and nothing on #6.

Next I tested the hot lead on the injector with ignition on. I was able to read 12.4v on two other injectors plug, but got 0v on #6. So it looks like the hot lead is not hot. Looking at the harness and plugs I cannot find where the hot leads start out.

So I have questions right now. Where do these injector harnesses pick up the hot lead (I would hate to start unraveling it). The harnesses all look good. Does this sound like a simple wiring issue or might it be something with the PCM? I haven't tested the signal wire on the Injector because I stopped when I found no hot.

Appreciate suggestions on next step. Thank you.

Likely the broken wire is right at the connector it very near it. So you might try probing the wire with a pin a couple inches away from the connector.
All the adjacent ones share the same power supply source and should be the same color. The ground side of each connector goes to the PCM which pulses the connection to ground.

So maybe you just need to wire in a new pigtail on the same wires and cut off the broken section. Or you could just splice into the common voltage supply wire for the other injectors

I will look at your suggestion, thank you

Unwrapped the tape from plug down to main bundle. And guess what? The wire was broken totally in two about an inch up from the bundle. No Idea how that happens.

I will splice it and heat shrink it tomorrow and hopefully that is the end of this hunt.

Thank you!
