Overhead Rail Gun Rack
I am determined to customize some sort of gun rack using the "Useless" overhead rails in my 06 F150. I have been sketching up some designs tonight paired with some Brews  and I want to know it anyone has looked into doing the same.
I don't want to drill into my roof and I want to be able to take it off after the hunting season is over. Here is what I have so far.... http://www.ruggedgear.com/index.cfm/...rod/prd336.htm - Screw in Gun mount https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...58e66263c0.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...2f94b833ef.jpg |
Seems like an interesting idea.
Since rifles are rather heavy, and going down rough roads would increase the stress on the rails, I think I would look at a way to grip the inside, and outside of each rail rather than just the outside. That would make things a lot more secure. |
here you go, seen them a few years ago,

I have this one that mounts on the back of my seats. I use it for my levels everyday, and my guns during deer season.

I can't remember exactly where I ordered it from, but i know cable's carries them. Walmart has them also.
I just googled "seat back gun rack", and a bunch of them popped up. Under $20 if I remember correctly. |
