Do COPS and plugs need to be changed together?

Wholesale changing of oem cops not necessary. Oems rarely fail .I'm not a fan of aftermarket . I'm at 197k--7 orig one duralast guaranteed. That one may just have needed contacts cleaned .Plugs are very fussy on this engine, must be done just right .
Common shudder is usually misfires when shifting to od or climbing hill . Rpms are down so stumble is more pronounced ,some call it lugging . Transmissions have been changed for this common misfire to no avail..
Change all boots/springs, clean all cop contacts .Replace any connector that doesn't lock on,cops and injectors . use very small amount dielectric grease on boot ends .Torque all plugs 25-28 foot pounds after starting by fingers . Keep everything very clean
Keep the oil changed and clean--synthetic.$ months or 5k .This engine uses dirty oil to hydraulically run cam timing with small filters and passages ,key is to not let it get dirt build up.. You are in a changeover year so your head may be different so check color of existing boots and engine build date on valve cover sticker for correct plugs and boots . You may want to pull one easy one to see .

this is so helpful. Better to at least try this before dropping the transmission and pulling out the torque converter. Would drive me bonkers to replace that, reassemble and still have the problem.
