Default Overdrive button issues

just noticed a few weeks ago that in my 06 screw kr that has the center console shifter that the overdrive button sticks and wont pop out only in, and have to use a knife to pry out to turn off, is there any way to remove the botton to fix it?

Same exact problem here. And I don't want to spray anything down there.

Pull the switch out and spray some brake cleaner in it. Blow out with air compressor. Wait for it to dry and test it before putting it back in the truck.

Just suggesting stuff. I've never removed that button, so I don't know how hard it is.

Put some LPS in there which is a electric cleaner and is alcohol based so dissolves quick but still no change wondering if it isnt a spring that is broke

Default Overdrive button issues

Mine sticks occasionally. The location of the button couldn't be in a worse place. It's a catch all for dirt and goo to get trapped in around the button. I would avoid harsh cleaners such as brake cleaner, maybe pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol around the button and work the button a few times allowing the alcohol to dissolve the grime.

Default Sticking overdrive button in center console

Mine was sticking too but it would return to the up position. I opened the console cover. (You access the release through the console storage cover using a standard screwdriver). Then the O/D switch is easily removed. It costs about $25 at the dealer, but I did not have to replace mine. I would first try to spray it with an electrical contact cleaner. Good luck.

I've been having this same issue. The button works only sometimes. Real pain in the *** since my tranny is now going out at 133k.
