Default Opinions on 3rd brake light replacement

So I am tired of looking at my factory 3rd brake light that has like 4 cracks in it from a hail storm. I am wanting to get this one, it is Eagle Eyes brand, which from my past buying experience, is a very good aftermarket brand. With my taillights tinted like they are, I think this would flow very well. Whats your thoughts?

If it's an LED type, make sure it has a load resister built in. Without one (if LED), it can cause your cruise control to stop working.

LED's in the tail lights brake/parking lamp or third brake light are a known issue with cruise control (search it here) failures. Since LED's draw very little voltage/amperage, this "messes" with the cruise controls ability to detect the expected resistence in this circuit when the conventional bulbs are in place.

Most aftermarket companies are aware of this, and have installed a load resister in their circuit board. Be sure yours has one.

Thats odd because I have a cheap ebay led in my third brake now and everything works as it should. I have never heard that an led in the third brake position will cause problems. Thanks for the heads up.

I like it... Make sure you post a pic after the install showing what it looks like off and lit.

I have a black smoked one in mine and I love it. No issues at all and it looks clean in my opinion. Just make sure you pull the harness out and not splice into the factory wiring I have pics of mine if you'd like to see how I did it

I have the same third brake light the OP posted currently (non Tinted version) and have had no probs in 2 years. I recommend it.
