Default spark plug change 05

been putting this off for some time now ,i had a miss for a while so this past weekend i decided to tackle it , wow , i started on friday evening ,started on the drivers side first broke all four loose a quarter turn soaked with carb cleaner and some pb blast ,let soak for about hour and a half ,started with the front one and it came right out one piece , the other three on this side all broke, i had already bought the lisle tool from a friend for 25 bucks so i put it to use , got all three broken ones out ,the tool worked real good ,decided to do the passenger side on sat.let the plugs soak overnite but apperanly did not help much , three broke on this side also, thank god for the tool ,one of the plugs that came out without breaking was a updated plug sp 515 , i put all motorcraft 515 back in it , so far it is running a lot better ,im waiting a bit to change out the coils , they seem to be ok as of now the plugs were probably original ??, it just turned 140,000 , i bought it with 116,000 and haven't had one issue with it i did replace the fpdm before it went out .

6 out 8 broken plugs

Well that sounds like a fun time.

I am so thankful all 8 of mine came out intact. I had the Lisle tool just in case and was able to return it.

Glad you got it taken care of though, should not be a problem next time.

Advice for the COP's. If they are not mis-firing, just buy new boots and springs. Clean up the copper contact in the nipple of the COP with paper fingernail files and install the new boots and springs. Works like a charm.
