Oil Leak somewhere?
I have some sort of oil leak that is mainly showing by leaving oil on the back of the front crossmember that the front of the lower control arm connects to. There is a hose on top of that crossmember that is absolutely soaked in oil, with small drips coming off the back of the crossmember. I can't for the life of me see where the oil is coming from though! Anywhere above this crossmember isn't even close to as wet as the crossmember. Is there a chance that hose that rides on the top of the crossmember is an oil line, and is cracked or something? I'm at a loss. I'll see if I can take some pics if no one can figure out what I'm describing.

well you could clean the area real good
I would use some dawn in a spray bottle to clean the engine area. Hose it off from bottom .
From what you say it's not the removable cross member area . .It must be the area right in the front of the engine . There are several candidate areas there . But you need to pin it down, is it power steering ,atf transmission or engine oil .
All are right there in the front of the timing cover bottom .
I believe the power steering uses atf also .
It could even be the radiator atf cooling circuit .
If its engine oil ,you have the timing cover gaskets and the seal on the crankshaft thru the timing cover .Getting the timing cover off is a lot of work .
Could be the oil pan gasket also.
Most likely seal on crankshaft on timing cover as it is a rotating seal . It is replaced on timing job . AS you go to put cover on, you coat crank keyway with RTV where it meets seal .
If you have a lot of miles this fix may be part of a timing job .
remove fan and shroud, clean area real well re-torque timing cover bolts/oil pan bolts .inspect cover sometimes timing chain eats right thru cover . You know your oil filter/oil pressure sensor right there also .

The most common leak in that area is power steering hoses
Salt eats them up and they flex a lot ,the steering assembly is right in front of the oil pan . The forum has just run thru guys having a hard time replacing those lines . You need to view them .

Redfish, Thanks for the reply, I had my mind so set that it was oil that I totally overlooked anything else. There has to be a lesson there somewhere. Ha.
I'll dig in to the truck, and see what I can come up with, with the above in mind. Will check in once I have something.
