Default oil leak help

Hello
i have 04 screw and i think i have an oil leak but i dont know the vehicle enough to know where its coming from.
The highest point on the engine showing signs of being wet is the bottom alternator bolt.

thanks

You have a pretty general question... so you aren't going to get a very precise answer. I think that if we had a more in depth explanation than "the alternator bolt is the highest spot", help would be more easily attained. Are you sure it is actually oil, and not coolant?

A picture is worth a thousand words....

Check valve covers, front cover, lines, etc. Pics would help a LOT.

There's not really anything up there that could leak engine oil and for it to get on the belt.

BTW, you have a 2004 F-150 Heritage 2 valve 5.4L. I can tell by that one injector in the lower left, and the fact that the rest of the engine compartment is completely different from the regular 2004-2008 trucks. Would this belong in the 1997-2003 F-150 forum?

Yes, this would go over in the 97-03 section. He also has throttle/CC cables, which the 3V's don't have.

I hate to sound picky... but can you get a little closer/clearer with the pic? You've got a couple things semi-close there that it could be.

I'd have an admin move this over to the 2V section.

He said that engine wasn't his he just used the pic to point out bolt.Hard for me to believe its oil that high up. More chance its a coolant leak . Even a hole in timing cover would be a reach . Timing chain has been known to eat thru the top of the timing cover ,shouldn't be hard to see .
