Default offset on wheel?

So Im looking into a new set of wheels, but i only have the 285/75/18 toyo open country A/T's. Right now they barely stick out past my stock fender flares. I want them to stick out a lot farther, so in order to do that, do i need a low offset on a wheel? like -12? Or what do I need to do in order for that wheel to stick out farther.

I believe the stock offset is somewhere near +50... Anything lower than that will make your tires stick out more. My wheels are +18, and they stick out about 3" past the fender (12.50" wide tires).

Awesome sounds good, so I have the 11.5" wide ones and with a -12 offset itll stick out quite a ways eh?

Here's some 33/13.5/18's with a -12 OS and 4.5" BS.

If you look at a 0 offset you will be about 2 inches further out than you are now. 12mm or so is about 1/2 inch or so. Stock I believe are +44mm why metric I dont know. So if you go -12 you would stick out about 2.5 inches from where you are now. I dont know about your state but in California thats a instant ticket. Tires are not allowed to stick out further than fender flares, so bigger fender flares. Now the bad, the load on your outer bearings will be incredible and probably lead to failure very quickly. The further out the tire is the more leverage it has to do damage on the axles, bearings etc... Just for your information... But do what you like... Goodluck...
