Exclamation Odd AC Problem ...

On our 2007 F150 Harley Davidson truck, we have cold air blowing into the windshield (like in defrost mode with heat) and into the floor, but we cannot get it to come out into the cab or to us from the dash?

I tried searching on here (no luck) and I don't even know where to start... any ideas? It has no problem blowing cold air, just not blowing from the dash.

im assuming these trucks still use the vacuum system to change the vent location - when there is no vacuum it defaults to the defrost settings for safety reasons. I would do searches on defrost and vacuum leak to help tell you where to look. Im not familiar with this year truck but Ford likes to put vacuum canisters/reservoirs over by the battery. The canister itself or any of the lines to it can break or if any work has been done under/in the dash a vacuum line could have been knocked loose

our 06 F350 had broken vacuum lines to the front hubs for the 4x4, when you selected 4x4 they didnt engage and air would switch to the defrost vents as you describe

Search blend mode door. You've probably got a jammed door or a dead motor, which I believe is up behind the dash on the driver's side above the throttle pedal. Maybe crawl under there and try to observe while changing between defrost dash vents and see if any little arm even tries to move

Ford moved to all-electrical actuators starting with the 2004 MY of the F150. F250 took a few more years.

Most likely this.

There is a mode door and a blend door in the case
Your mode door has issues if you have cold air coming from the defrost vents
You pull the electric actuator and see if the mode door travels freely
The one up and to the right of your feet when driving is the mode door
Sometimes the door itself breaks (hope that is not the case)
Good luck
