I have a 07 Lariat SCrew with the console shifter and I actually want the steering column shifter. This would open up more storage room next to the existing cup holders for 2 more drinks, a dedicated phone storage/charging station, or maybe even a slick concealed gun holster. Has anyone done this swap? I know it's popular to go from column to console shifter, but I must be old school and want the opposite. Anyone have their leftover parts they'd like to donate?

Buy a truck with a column shifter. Such a swap would be more money and headache than it's worth.

 

Actually quite wrong... The swap isn't very hard at all. (Speaking from experience) I had an 09 and did the Center Console from Steering Colum swap. I can't imagine the 04-08 models would be much different. Completed my install in a weekend.
