Umm, you might have something wrong. It takes $75 to fill mine up and i'm getting about 370 per tank on average and I have the 5.4 V8 Screw w/ 34" tires. I also do mostly in town driving and take it fairly easy on the throttle. I managed to get 19mpg driving down to Florida on the interstate but its around 16 mpg in town.

How much cash on top of a 2004 FX-4 double cab. I don't about you all, but around here diesel is about $4...

It doesn't matter which engine you get, you will hate either one coming from a Powerstroke. Not just from the poor fuel economy but the lack of power. I know, I hate my 05 5.4 after my 04 6.0. I couldn't take paying $80 cents a gallon more for diesel anymore and didn't like how noisy my engine was when cold. But after two months with my 05 F150 and 5.4 I would switch back in a heartbeat. Anyone know of a time machine for rent

Before anyone replies, yes I went with a 3 inch cat back exhaust, Better flowing air intake and used my SCT programmer with minimal if any noticable effects. The same mods on the Powerstroke blew my mind

I have an 04 lariat supercab and I average 14.5 mpg. I know that I would enjoy owning your f-250, It would be sweet!! I think I would be better off buying a work beater to save on gas prices. I like everything about my lariat except for the open rearend. I am going to hunt down a limited slip rearend or a kit if I can get one at a reasonable price.

I have a 2004 regular cab FX4 with the 5.4 and I can get 400 miles to a 25 gallon fill up, and that is mixed driving with the occasional WOT pass. I love the power of the 5.4 with the regular cab.
