Newer All in One Remote Key.... Anyone?
I got a newer all in one oem ford key, got the remote programed in my driveway to now work with it. It’s already cut to my truck and was at the dealer today. They looked at the key at the desk and said no it won’t work, they didn’t offer this key then. Well they tried to program the pat chip and sure enough it works... the service manger said I must be the only one with a 04-08 with a All in one key LOL

If you got a factory one to work, I’m interested.
Aftermarket ones have been around for quite a while. I have tried a couple of them. While they function perfectly, the icons wear off the buttons in just a couple months.

Im not sure what year is your truck but it would depend if it uses a 40 or 80bit chip.
I covered this in another thread: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/fob-key-combo-04-a-395267/

Mine is a 2008.
I visited your other thread, and it was useful. My original key has an S on it, so I know it has a 40 bit chip.
But, at least for my 2008, that's only half the problem. There are evidently 2 different key designs. The blade on one is longer than the other. My 2008 has a rubber protector around the cylinder that protrudes a little. If you get an all-in-one key with the short blade, it won't go in the cylinder far enough to turn unless you push real hard, or trim some of the plastic off the key head. The only one that works properly is at least 3/16" longer.
So if I go looking for an all-in-one key, I have to find one that is 40 bit, and has the long blade.

I'm pretty sure I read some place that an 80 bit key will work backwards into the older 40 bit key ignitions (but not 40 into 80 bit ignitions)....someone else may chime in to verify this ????
