Default Newbie Question

Have the 08' 4.6 had has no power. Or poor power towing uphill. thinking I want a 5.0. Is an engine swap worth it or sell the whole truck and buy a truck with a 5.0?

Cheaper alternative is to regear your diff. Depends on how often you tow vs drive on the highway though.

Re-gearing will make a huge difference if you plan to tow with the truck. Also consider a transmission cooler (if you don't have one).

If you check tow packages, you'll see that they include a different rear gear setup.

If you own a 4x4, the gearing has to be changed up front as well to match the rear gear change.

For some reason this cost up to 3x as much.
