Default New (used truck advice)

I am looking at getting a new ride. I want a supercrew and am leaning towards an fx4. If I can swing the $$ should I get a 2009 or 2010 with more miles or am I better off trying to find a lower mileage 2007-2008? Also sterling gray or white?
Thanks

Well definitely white regardless lol but I may be biased but I'd say go low mileage 07-08 over higher mileage 09-10 just because aside from low mileage being a better choice later year models of trucks tend to have less issues and have been corrected as opposed to newer models trucks that may have certain issues or "bugs" in a sense

I agree with king07, go with the lower mileage 07-08. It should be a better choice in the long run and while the new body style is great, I still really like the 04-08 body style.

I'd say get newer ('11+) high millage 5.0 within 100k-110k miles. With an older truck you are risking its been rolled back, crashed, been driven all city, etc.

Here at least there is almost no price difference between the '08's and '09's because they both have the gas guzzler 5.4.

Buying a truck and starting driving it at 110k plus miles as new as 2011 or newer, I respect ur opinion but talk about a truck that's been run hard. There are ways to check accident history

Everyone is going to have a different opinion and you just have to look at all of them then decide whats best for you. If you drive a lot then starting out with 110k miles probably isn't the best thing but, you also have to remember a 2004 with 20k isn't like getting a new truck. Sometimes people forget age can play an important factor in a vehicle. Before you buy anything check the carfax!

I like the looks of the 09+ body style and the 6 speed transmission should do better on gas and tow nicer. I test drve a 10 fx4 supercrew recently and really liked it but it was about 24k with 111k miles on it. I plan to keep if for a while so that high of mileage seems like a bad idea.

I remember my mother had an 84 olds delta 88 with 30,000, that we sold to a friend in 1996. It looked mint, but as soon as it got driven normal, parts just started falling off it. We also put 3 exhaust on it from just sitting all the time.

Get a 2009 or 2010. And sterling gray. That's one badass color. Because there is to many white ones there just to plain jane to me. And the 09+ looks so much better. Not as many issues.

Thanks everyone.
I would really like the 09 or 10 but I am not sure I can find one that is in my price range without a boat load of miles.
