Default Can AC cause misfire?

2008 4.6l. My truck was vibrating bad and threw a P0300. After I did the plugs and COPs the truck ran great but when ever I turn my AC on the truck vibrates like hell. I threw a P0300 today and was wondering if the AC can cause a load at idle and misfire? The AC compressor pulley is making noise and I know I need to get the compressor or clutch replaced. Can the bad AC cause the misfire?

Climb a hill or pull trailer to make it under load does it do it with ac off then . A bad compressor can actually break your belt if its near seizing.

Motorcraft plugs and duralast COP. W/o the AC on it runs great. Today the engine light turned off and I didnt use the AC unless I was driving, if I was stopped at a light I turned it off. I noticed some oil under the AC compressor so I bought one of those little cans of oil and it helped but it is still running rough

Check your throttle body. I jsut bought my truck and it was doing something similar and I discovered the throttle body was very dirty. Cleaned it up and the problem went away.

Crazy timing for this thread. I just figured it out yesterday. Replaced all the COP and only misfired while AC was on. Belt tensioner still bouncing around like crazy. My buddys dad suggested looking under the truck to see if any of the AC lines were covered in oil and if so usually they wont leak enough to drip. Well he was right, I went and bought some AC oil recharge can and it helped a little. A month goes by and I figured I would try again so yesterday I added the oil and now no vibration. I did clean the MAF with no results. It was super dirty. I think I need a new compressor and adding oil is just a band aid. Thoughts yall?

You're compressor is probably starting to seize and causing a lot of engine strain when it engages

When you have to add refrigerant to a sealed system.. there’s a problem
