New Member with a few questions...
I just joined this morning and have been reading random posts and it seems like the 04-08 f150's have a lot of the same issues.
I have an 06 f150 xlt 5.4. I bought the truck a year and a half ago with 15000 and now I have 46000. I change the oil on a regular basis (full synthetic) and I try to keep up on the PM. I will say this truck has not been very nice to me. I have had both rear brake lights, 3rd brake light and a fog light blow. I already had the truck in once for a ticking noise and according to the dealer it was just a vaccum line though it still ticks to this day. (If im in a drive through its pretty noticable like a desiel would sound.)
I previously owned a 99 f150 4.6 with almost 170000 on it and I swear I almost never had a problem. So I guess what Im looking for advice on is should I change my plugs and coils or could it be converter issues.... As a side note, the truck doesnt seem to have any more or less power since the day I bought it and the mpg is not that great maybe 15 at most. I want to put a lot into my truck this summer and hope you guys can help. Thank you for any imput any of you can give me.

Mine is idleing and when I am just taking off next to a drive up window at a bank where they have a canopy over head, then you can really hear it. Rattles like a diesel. plus I also have what sounds like a heat sheild loose so I get a tinny rattle sound on top of the cam phasers rattling.

Two things I did that greatly improved my gas milage was I bought an Edge tuner which I run on level 2 (towing) and I did this intake mod:

The best milage I've seen so far is 17.5 And thats running on 22 inch rims and tires!
