I still don't understand how you could of "Had standing water on top of intake manifold" after driving your truck around and then 10 miles after it hit the puddle. You are talking about a truck that was already at running temperature and at that temperature it shouldn't have take that long for all water to evaporate and been shook off going down the road.

If anyone have put some wanter in a frying pan and left it you would know it doesn't take long for it to dry up.

Update: Ford Motor Co. covered the costs. After taking a lawsuit stance because it was going no where with your standard Ford 800 hotline, warranty people, and a couple calls by/to management, they decided to cover the costs. Nuff said. Thanks all for any small tidbits that helped. Ford finally did the right thing considering the circumstances, not one on here would have acceppted a no warranty answer if you would have gone through that mud puddle! Maybe most would have only gone as far and just accepting the no warranty answer and been really pissed off and been out the money...based on principle alone...all the way to court IF I had too! See ya.

Well way to get paid, dude! So many people are out to get your money that you have to squeeze back whenever you can just to stay afloat. I hydrolocked an old truck of mine in Alaska and it ruined damn near everything. Although, coil packs shouldn't crap out like that...maybe you need to look into shrink-wrapping their connections. Also, remember that if you ever use a high flow intake or filter that those things will "high flow" water just as good as they do air!

It's really a shame that we need to threaten a LAWSUIT to get them to to do anything WARRANTY wise.....
I had to threaten a law suit to get the FORD dealer to drop their $1300 claim to change 8 spark plugs!....................
and I would have sued and WON!

These dealers know that if that they go before a JURY they will LOSE!

Like I said before it is a money game. The dealership will make more money from you if they deny the clame then they would if ford paid the warenty clame. If the dealer denys they clame that means that ford motor corp will not have to shell out the money, so they come out on top as well so they make money.

So when the customer pushes for something that should have been paid in the first place they will say ok we will be nice and pay it for you so they come out looking good in the customers eyes.

Why because i was stating facts? Must be another old man who knows it all.....

to the OP..if that's what it takes, then i guess it was worth it...had a issue close to that with a chevy we had, the door lit on fire and they don't cover interior panels, hours and hours on the phone finally got me a new one.
