New engine, how do I find out if it's flex fuel?
Got a new engine under warranty a couple of weeks after I bought my truck. (last year) When we had the hurricane come through Florida gas was really hard to find. Diesel was still around, and so was E85. Is there somewhere on my engine I can look? Or will I need to ask the dealer? (they installed the engine)

There should be a code stamped or placed somewhere on that block. I'm not 100% sure where though. Still, would probably have to have that code deciphered.

I mean, I would hope they entered the vin to make sure they ordered you the same. I know pretty much all aftermarket, even Ford, make the distinction in the item description between the 5 and V vin characters.

Is there any difference in block and heads when considering the standard and flex-fuel engines? I thought that the difference was found in the fuel system components (pump, non-metallic lines, fittings rails, etc.), and maybe PCM? Seems to me a long-block change wouldn't matter. What am I missing?

And be careful with E85. It can vary WIDELY in actual ethanol percentage, as well as contain way more water than is safe. Even at the same station from fillup to fillup, especially in humid FL.
