Anyone know the best place to tap for 12v ignition?

Are these remade DRL modules any good?
I would just wire them into a switched 12v on the ignition like you said. Most cars with DRLs are this way, I think?

This seems to be the easiest place to tap into a 12V ignition wire. Check out this thread from another forum. This guy (Post by Rklavoon) goes directly to the fuse box by the passenger side kick panel and taps into a 12V switched wire DB/LG (Dark blue/Light green stripe). He has pictures to show the exact location. Always use a test light to confirm.

Me, I usually go straight under the steering wheel column and use a T-Tap in my ignition wire. Not the most comfortable spot to be tapping into a wire but once I remove all the panels there's enough room to work. Plus it's closer to the hole in the firewall to run the wires out. The ignition wire under the steering wheel column is BK/LG (Black / Light Green Stripe).

You can clearly see the BK/LG wire on this picture (under steering wheel column)

Most cars with DRLs have a module that runs them. They sell some generic ones online.

That is super helpful txfrd! I'm going to do exactly that.

If you want to run DRLs, check the underhood fuse box. There should be some blank spots to plug in the relays and fuses. Check the owners manual or the Canadian spec trucks

Lights are on but not hooked up yet. I just hard wired one to my battery to see how it looks. I like it. It can be a blinker but you'd need to wire it to do that. I'll upload that pic.

I'm just going to tap ignition power so they're on all the time.

Heres them just hard wired to the battery.

I'm going to fully wire them up tomorrow. Honestly I was nervous they'd look tacky, but they really give the truck an updated look!
