Default New 2007 F-150 - 6 Disc Changer questions

I just bought a 2007 F-150 with the 6 disc in dash changer. Every time I start the truck, it cycles through all 6 slots. Is this normal?

I am sure I will be back with lots of questions - this is my first Ford. It is a 2007 F-150 lariat 4 door. So far, I'm loving it.

Thanks,

Adam

No it should not. I am not sure what would cause it to do so. Is the stereo in CD mode when you shut down and start? If so does it still cycle if you have the stereo on FM verses CD? This may sound strange but have the battery tested. My ranger would start fine but would cycle the electric locks. It did it for a few months until I tested the battery and the battery failed.

No, I have the radio in FM mode, and have 3 discs loaded. The charging system checks OK when I scroll through the system check screens. I'll look at the battery and see if anything looks funky.

Thanks!

Stopped by the local carquest today and got them to put the tester on the battery - everything tested fine, and the terminals were clean. This is an '07 truck, and has an interstate battery in it. The ground cable wiggled a little when he checked them for tightness... and the cd player has worked perffectly since then. I'm calling it a slightly loose ground.

The truck is at the dealership tonight - it will be getting plugs, trans filter & fluid change, coolant flush, and fuel filter tomorrow. Should be good to go for a while after that!

Thanks,

Adam

Goodluck
My 6 disk started doing that and one day I went to use it and it displayed no disks
I know I had 4 disks in it
I tried to eject and got the same no disk message
It wouldn't allow me to put any in either
Everytime I get in the truck and randomly while I'm driving I hear it cycling through
The worst thing is one of the disks is the American Graffiti sound track disc one
My advice is get your CDs out while you can
