Default Needing to replace my rear axle assembly

For starters, I don't work on my own vehicles unless it is something small or an electrical issue.

I have a 2006 4.6L that has collision damage from a t-bone before I bought it, the differential runs without grease due to heavy leaking, and the right axle is bent, causing pretty decent wheel wobble. I need some help figuring out what exactly I need to buy. I'm not sure of the ring size, but it is 6 lug, not the 7-lug. The gear ratio is unknown to me as well.

Can you install a 9" rear diff when you had 8 before, or is there there modification that need to be done at the same time. I'm lookin for non-junkyard with LSD, but now I'm confused as to what Remanufactured brand I should be getting and how much is a reasonable amount to spend. I've seen $1200 all the way to 4000+. Can someone suggest me a company that they've ran and had no issues with?

you can install about any ford rear end you want. to figure out what rear axle you have now, look at the sticker on the door, find axle code. It will be a 2 digit code. when you find it post it on here and i can tell you which a rear axle you have

I have a very similar need.

My truck has axle code 19 and I want to replace it with an H9 axle. Will I run into any incompatible parts (like driveshaft length or u-joint fit).?

TIA.

Regards,
Bill Lee
