Need idea's for how to go about selling my Truck... Go back to stock?
I've been trying to sell my 05 5.4L 2wd Scab for some time now. Lots of craigslist ad's, tried eBay for about 4 months before they changed the pricing to post, and have had it up on Mautofied.com for over a year. I started asking $14k about a year ago. I've gone down to 10k yet I feel thats a steal for my ride with about 95k miles on it. My dilemma is that I'm thinking not many people are into lowered trucks on 22's so I'm thinking about selling the 22's, the Leer Tonneau cover, drop kit, and then buying a little body lift, leveling kit, 33's or 5's and Herculiner the bed. I could sell all those things and buy the lift, tires, and bed with money to spare. I would do all the work myself so I don't need to factor in installation cost, just some time, and a whole new look. If I did all that, I would go back to asking $12k... What do you guys think, is it worth the effort?
Mechanically the truck is in great condition and I believe it will go another 100k miles easy. Also would it be worth it for me to pay $600 or so to get the hood, fender, and upperbumper painted professionally so it looks better? Or go ahead and matte black the whole truck for a little bit more than $600? (kinda defeats the purpose of going back to kinda stock)

Whenever I go to the auto auction in Dallas, the lifted trucks with bigger tires always have large gatherings around them. They are taller, look tough, and give off a "look at me" image that creates the gravitation towards them. Lowered trucks in my experience do not appeal to the crowd at large. It makes sense to appeal to a wider audience by doing what is necessary to make your truck more appealing.
Would it be better to revert the truck to stock since it is a 2wd and not a 4wd(something lifted truck owners desire)? This would allow you to part out your truck and gain two sources of cash flow. One from the parts, and one from the sale of the truck itself.

Sara Palin 2011!
I personally think it looks so much better now. I was ready to buy it 'til I read it's 2WD haha. You'll probably have better luck the more stock it is. People just have no taste, ugh!
Haha, good luck!

Yeah man, I usually don’t like lowered trucks, but that has a good look to it. I would say return to stock set up and repaint it so everything matches. With fresh paint and a stock look, I would think it would sell pretty easy. Plus, parting it out would help pay for the paint.

You should easily get 10-12k out of that. Maybe your not posting all in the right areas possibly. Its like 40bucks to throw it on ebay. I would suggest that or try a few different forums as well.

that's a nice looking truck. I'm a 4x4 guy but some people out there might really like it the way it is. try selling it like it is first. then after a month or 2 if it doesnt sell then put it at stock height. people will like the hood.
