Need help with pop and lock tailgate wiring
I have a 05 f150 crew cab and bought a pop and lock for my tailgate. The directions are telling me two different set of wires to tap into and neither are evident. Can anyone help me with information on what wires I need to use.
Thanks

I ran into a similar issue and despite being given the cable colors for my model and year, there was more than one cable with that color. Two choices I had:
1. Find the cables that run directly into one of the door locks. You'll probably have to remove the door panel. If you choose a passenger door and have two stage power unlock set up, your tail gate will unlock with the second press of a button.
2. Buy a multimeter and test every $&%#* single one. That's what I ended up doing. Always wanted to mess around with a multimeter. $20 at Pep Boys. Makes me feel like an electrician.

In my truck, there was a gaggle of wires (meaning a LOT) under the passenger side foot plate. Like 50 wires.

Update. I ended up taking my rear door panel off and was going to wire into the wires there so I knew they were the right wires and saw they were pink with black stripe and pink with orange stripe. I kept my fingers crossed and spliced them into those color wires in the loom of wires that runs down the the side of the truck and worked.
