Need Help/Advice before buying a 2008 Limited F-150
Guys I'm new here but figured this was a good place to start. I'm tossing the idea around about purchasing a 2008 F-150 Limited but I'm finding myself extremely torn over this whole AWD(all wheel drive) thing. I've searched this forum about what AWD is and what its not. I've seen people on the forum say its really a 2wd truck but setup as a AWD and will only send power to the front tires if the rear tires spin or loose traction. I'm just curious what the pro's and con's are and want to make a sound decision before I bury off deep in a purchase of one.
I have only owned and driven 1 AWD vehicle which was a 05 Cadillac escalade EXT and I could notice it felt as if the tires constantly pulled no matter the conditions or how the truck was driven. I also had horrible experiences with it in cruise control on the interstate and it trying to maintain proper speed setting. (A lot of bucking and jerking)
Please educate me as much as possible on these trucks. Thanks Again

My dad had an 08 limited AWD and it was fine. Bought it brand new and had it three years and probably 48k miles and never had any trouble with the AWD. Did lots of towing (with me in the truck) and never had any cruise control/bucking/dry pavement issues.
He traded it for his 2010 lariat and telle me he liked everything better on his 08 EXCEPT that he now has cooled seats, which we both personally think to be the best option ever put on a vehicle.

"Why Leave it Stock?"
I wasn't even aware that they made a Limited in 2008, I thought the best was a KR or HD? Anyway, I'm thinking they must have gotten rid of it for a few years, I think they just started offering it again on F-150s in 2011 or 12.

A relative if mine also bought a limited new and put about 50k on it. He never had an issue at all besides the rims not holding up to the Minnesota winters. It was a sweet truck.
