I purchased a 2005 F-150 Screw with 160K miles 5.4L Triton. I had it up on the lift this week-end and much to my surprise, I saw a metal tag on the bottom of the motor that read "Ford remanufactured" with a date of 12/17/10. There was no mention of a motor swap on the car fax report (I doubt the dealer knew either or I wouldn't have gotten such a good deal).
Is there a way to look up the serial number to get the mileage when installed , who installed it etc? These motors come with a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty. I'd really like to know simply for maintenance reasons.
