And I thought the nondescript title was bad, content was even worse.

Back when I used to mod a forum, nondescript titles were frowned upon such as:

"My truck"
"Truck problems"
"Truck issue"
"Need help"
"Weird noise"

Hello, my truck made a noise.
Do I need a new engine or brake pads?

It's the first post...Maybe english isn't his first language. Maybe he has a difficult time getting his words across.

To answer the question, checking the oil first thing in the morning, with the engine OFF, is the most accurate reading you'll get. Once the truck is running, oil will be pumped throughout the engine, making for an inaccurate reading, unless you let it sit for a while. Just check the oil in the morning before starting the truck, this will tell you if you are low or not.

I already told him how to check it....being morning or evening or night has nothing to do with it......as long as it has not been driven in a few hours, he should be fine.

When he/she comes back and says something along the lines of "I'm sorry, I'm from Ukraine/Poland/Germany and my English isn't the best." some of you are going to feel like d-bags... or at least look like one.

I'm staying tuned.
