Default ham radio mounting and antenna mount ideas

Have SC 150 with topper. Lariat has the full console up to the dash.
Would like to use a trunk lip mount or hatchback mount on hood but
no lip on side of hood. Only edge avail. seems to be the rear lip of the hood
facing windshield. Any ideas? Also, limited mounting areas for 2 meter
radio. I don't have the detachable faceplate on the radio so thats out.. Any ideas or pictures of
installations would be very helpful. Thanks!

I did the NMO mounts in the roof. If that's not your pref, I believe there is an "L" bracket mounts that will work in the hood/fender gap.

I'm going to go with NMO mounts on the roof. As far as where to put the radio, I'm still looking at options but leaning towards a floor mount tree. I don't have the full console so I'm looking at using the existing bracket the middle seat uses since there are already bolts bolts there.

Default antenna mount

The truck manual says not to put an antenna on the front fender as it might interfere with some electronic controls, (might be ABS).

I have a friend who has a Explorer and he has a Comet NMO mount on the right side back door. It works well and he can fold the unit down to put into a garage. I plan to do the same thing on my F-150 and I think this it the model: http://www.dxengineering.com/parts/c...FUcaOgodZFEAyg

Now to figure out where to install a screwdriver antenna along with a cover or top.
