Default My Bumper Build

heres my bumper build thread

i went out to the truck and started taking basic measurements, i.e. entire height of bumper, length, and other little things. then i started making the design out of card board.

heres where im at so far:

i cant build any farther down with the card board on the truck so this is where the steel will begin.

tommorrow i'll be getting the steel and will start drawing it out on the sheet. also depending on how this one goes me and my buddy are going to start building and selling them, hopefully for a lot less than road armor and other companies.

Been lookin at doing one of these builds myself. Looking forward to see how this progresses.

Also curious as to how these custom bumpers affect the airbag sensors?

I'm checking today but last time I got some it was around 150 I believe for an 8x5 sheet of 3/16th.

I've wondered the same thing. Where are the sensors?

im not sure yet, depends on how much we have in them. it will be around a thousand or less. i don't know of any company that makes one for less than that. yes a winch mount will be made but im not sure if i will put one on my first one.

all of that is not certain yet though, after we make this first one we'll be able to add up the cost of steel, welding, rods, grinding wheels, etc. then set a price.
