Yup just like Bucko said it really depends on what the truck is worth now compared to the cost of repairing it. How many miles you got on it? It does look mostly cosmetic but even those repairs can add up quickly............

it's got 110,000 miles. KBB is saying it's worth $17,000

Thank you all for your insight and opinions. Just got a call from insurance and it's not totaled! Looking forward to to being able to drive it again.

Actually, that part concerned me; how fast was the OP going when he hit the vehicle in front of him? If it was under the speed (35MPH?) that the bags implode, then that was a lot of frontal damage for such a low speed impact.

KBB price and an insurance price are quite a bit apart I'm sure. No way insurance sees your F150 worth close to $17000.... But glad it seems to be working out your way.

I hear ya. I was also wondering why they didn't go off. Must have been going 34mph.
