My 2005 Lariat salvage rebuild thread
Ok so ive been a member here for a few months, i joined around the same time i bought my 2005 screw lariat salvage and havent really posted any pics of it or its progress. I have a full progress thread over at R-F where i frequent, heres the link if you want to check it out http://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2/...150-build.html im going to put up some of my pics of what has been done so far in this thread. its a 2005 super crew lariat 4x4 with 49,000 miles on it. i picked up the truck for $5500 out the door, it had been in a roll over accident and was totalled, i purchased it from a salvage yard. i drove it the forty miles back to my dads body shop where we started the rebuild, here are the pics.

fast forward a few weeks to now. the interior is in, all cab trim is on, used hood is painted and intalled with new grill, new upper bumper cover painted and on and scratched to hell headlights sanded and polished like new.
things left to finish is the bed, needs the new skin welded on, body work and paint on both sides and shes nearly done!

So if you were able to do this, why didn't you try to convince the ins co not to total it or at least you know how to manipulate the estimates to save it from the black ball known as "Salvage Repair"?

i wasnt the one that wrecked the truck, it was already totalled. i actually found the truck on craigslist and purchased it from the salvage yard that posted the add. i got my ranger the same way back in 2002, it was also a salvage total. its a way for me to get a vehicles cheap. the insurance companys sell the totalled vehicles to the salvage yards that either part them out or sell them whole depending on the damage. some even have clear titles instead of salvage titles. the salvage title isnt a concern to me becuase i dont by these to sell. i will own this truck untill the wheels fall off ha ha.
